Douglas County Watershed Planning Association - Timeline
Phase One: (January 2000 - July 2000)
- Instituted the Planning Unit
- Educated the Planning Unit on issues
- Identified and negotiated priorities of resources and needs
- Created an action plan for addressing water quantity, quality,
instream flows, and wildlife habitat
Phase Two: (July 2000 - January 2003)
- Conduct field projects, research, and data collection on the action
plan priorities set forth in Phase One
- Produce comprehensive Basic Technical Assessments
- Monitor closely the ever-changing resources and needs
Phase Three: (July 2002 - September 2004)
- Develop a comprehensive watershed plan for Douglas County, to be
approved by the County Commissioners
- Make recommendations for water resource management action
- Establish long-term monitoring effort and information collection
strategy
