Summary   A 760 foot test-observation well drilled near Mansfield, WA by the Washington State DOE is one of several

drilled to date. These test wells provide information on ground-water conditions where data from existing

wells are incomplete and fail to provide adequate guidance for management of the area's ground-water

resource.  This long term project includes construction of the well, testing, and periodically collecting data

from test-observation wells in selected areas of the state. The project, part of a continuing cooperative

program of Water Resources Investigations in Washington, is financed jointly by the USGS of the WADOE.

The wells are located where there is a need for ground-water data for water-management purposes and

where data cannot be obtained by other means.
