Watershed Planning Timeline

Lake Jameson

Phase One: (January 2000 - July 2000)
Instituted the Planning Unit
Educated the Planning Unit on issues
Identified and negotiated priorities of resources and needs
Created an action plan for addressing water quantity, quality, instream flows, and wildlife habitat

Phase Two: (July 2000 - January 2003)
Conduct field projects, research, and data collection on the action plan priorities set forth in Phase One
Produce comprehensive Basic Technical Assessments 
Monitor closely the ever-changing resources and needs

Phase Three: (July 2002 - February 2005)
Develop a comprehensive watershed plan for Douglas County, to be approved by the County Commissioners
Make recommendations for water resource management action
Establish long-term monitoring effort and information collection strategy

Phase Four: (February 2005 - Present)
Develop a detailed implementation plan for the approved watershed plan
Prioritize implementation projects
Acquire funding for construction of projects
Continue surface water, ground water, and water quality monitoring
