Planning Unit meetings are held monthly.
Planning Unit Subcommittees meet as needed.
Public are encouraged to attend.
Board of Supervisors Business Meeting
Held the first Wednesday of the month at the Mansfield Senior Center.
April through October the meetings start at 7:30pm, and November through March the meetings start at 12:30pm.

Douglas County Dryland Agriculture Workshop
Annual meeting of the Foster Creek Conservation District and South Douglas Conservation Districts and the Douglas County Crop Improvement Association. Pesticide credits available.

The Annual Tree and Shrub Sale
Order your trees and shrubs! The Annual Tree and Shrub Sale sponsored by the South Douglas and Foster Creek Conservation will accept orders until mid-March. Trees and Shrubs sold are adapted to this area. Contact the South Douglas Conservation District, 509/745-9160, for a catalog.

Ordered plants will be delivered early April at the North Central Washington Fairgrounds in Waterville.

Envirothon
The Tri-County Envirothon is a problem-solving, natural resource competition for high school students. In the field, teams of students are challenged to hone critical thinking skills and work as a team to both answer written questions and conduct hands on investigation of environmental issues. The regional Envirothon is sponsored by the Foster Creek, South Douglas, and Okanogan Conservation Districts.
June
Environmental Tour
Educational tour exploring the interface between endangered species and family farms, ranches, and orchards in Douglas County. The tour is open to private landowners, elected officials, and the general public to learn about wildlife species and demands of farming in the county. Tour participants will include the environmental & business communities; local farmers, ranchers, & orchardists; legislators, educators & government agency leaders; and other concerned citizens. Last year 140 participants representing 65 different organizations participated in this event!

North Central Washington Fair, Douglas County Fairgrounds, Waterville
The South Douglas Conservation District hosts an informational booth and an education competition.
