DC MSHCP Current Conditions

 

There are 23 distinct land cover types within the Plan area. These land cover types were identified as a result of  remote sensing and image analysis using 2005 Landsat 7 multi-spectral scenes. The MSHCP will update this analysis frequently and compare the changes over time in the Plan area.  Land cover types do not specifically describe habitat types, but dominant plant communities that are directly observable:

4. Dryland Agriculture

5. Riparian, Large Shrub/Trees

6. Three-Tip Sage, Moderate Cover

7. Three-Tip Sage, Dense Cover

8. Three-Tip Sage Light Cover

9. Grasslands, Bare/Three-Tip Sage

10. Big Sage, Moderate Cover

11. Big Sage, Dense Cover

12. Stiff Sage, Grasslands

13. Grasslands, Bare/Stiff Sage

14. Bitterbrush, Moderate Cover

15. Bitterbrush, Dense Cover

16. Non-Shrubsteppe, Moderate Brush Cover

17. Non-Shrubsteppe, Dense Brush Cover

18. Non-Shrubsteppe, Light Brush Cover

19. Non-Shrubsteppe, Grasslands/Bare Ground

20. Grasslands - Burned
