District News

It's time to begin planning for noxious weed controls.  The district mailed out cost-share forms to everyone who participated in our biological control program last year.  If you received one please take a moment to fill it out, sign it, and send it back to us.  If you didn't receive one, please give us a callDeadline for biocontrol sign-up is April 30.

New information available:                                            Fire-Resistant Plants for Home Landscapes:  A guide to selecting plants that may reduce your risk from wildfire.  Contact Kristinefor your copy.

After seven years with Foster Creek CD, Marilynn Lynn our Watershed Manager has left the district to pursue full time farming.  Marilynn and her husband farm certified organic peaches and nectarines along with raising Alpacas near Bridgeport.  Marilynn will continue providing facilitation services for the Douglas County Watershed Planning Unit for the district.  She will be greatly missed by all.  Good Luck Marilynn in your farming and ranching endeavors! 

Kathleen Deason has taken over as our Watershed Manager since January 2008.  Good job, Kathleen!

Kristine Desgroseillier began work for the district on January 3rd as a Natural Resources Technician.  She is a graduate of Western Washington University in biology and has worked for the Forest Service, Washington Conservation Corps, and others.  She will focus mainly on Foster Creek's Watershed Planning, Habitat Conservation Plan implementation, and district outreach activities.
